Lysol®, in collaboration with The GIANT Room—a co-design lab for teachers, students, and their families—is proud to return for year two of our Science Kit program, “Minilabs,” as part of the HERE for Healthy Schools initiative.

Building on the success of last year, we’re working to make Minilabs even more inclusive, expanding accessibility and support for students with diverse needs, including neurodivergent students, early readers, and English Language learners. The Lysol® Minilabs Science Kits will once again be donated to a limited number of Title 1 elementary schools across the United States at the start of the 2025–26 school year. Elementary school admins, district leaders, teachers, and cluster science and/or health teachers are encouraged to request a kit for their classrooms.

The HERE for Healthy Schools program is designed to reduce absenteeism by engaging students with hands-on activities that make learning about germs and hygiene fun, memorable, and actionable. Geared toward grades 1 and 2, the kit teaches the science of germs while fostering lifelong positive hygiene habits. Selected classrooms will receive a Lysol® Minilabs Science Kit to be implemented throughout the school year. Each kit includes hands-on materials for the entire classroom, lesson plans aligned with NGSS, ELA, Health, and TEKS standards, easy-to-use teacher resources including student-facing lesson slides and guides for home-school connection, and take-home activities.

  • Lysol’s HERE for Healthy Schools program is intended to help stop the spread of illness-causing germs in the classroom through creating hands-on activities that are fun and engaging while teaching the science of germs, and positive hygiene behaviors. Designed for grades 1 to 2, these kits are designed to educate students about the science of germs and encourage healthy hygiene habits. Each participating classroom will receive one kit with three modules for the school year. Each module includes hands-on materials for the whole classroom, engaging and fun hands-on lesson plans aligned with NGSS, ELA, Health, and TEKS standards, and resources for teachers for easy and effective implementation.

  • Lysol Minilabs Science Program is created for teachers and specifically designed for grades 1 to 2. For full terms and conditions, please visit Lysol minilabs terms and conditions

  • Lysol Minilabs Science Kits are designed to have hands-on materials for up to 30 students.

  • Lysol Minilabs Science Kits are free for eligible Title 1 teachers, available while supplies last. Teachers can also download free digital kits at the Lysol Minilabs Science Digital Kit and Resources page in September.

  • If selected, you will receive a confirmation email when your order ships in August. Keep an eye out for your email and spam folder for a note from The Giant Room.

  • Lysol is donating Lysol Minilabs kits to Title 1 Schools across the nation. This year’s kit include hands-on activities for students and do not include Lysol Disinfecting Wipes.

  • Lysol Minilabs kits will not be available for purchase. However, in September all teachers will be able to visit https://www.thegiantroom.com/lysolminilabsdigitalkits to download free digital kits.

  • This year Lysol® is taking a dual approach to help combat absenteeism – in partnership with The GIANT Room, they’ve created hands-on LTO science kits focused on germ education and reinforcing positive hygiene habits in the classroom. With this year’s HERE for Healthy Schools campaign, students are learning in a fun and engaging way that makes them excited to come to school, while simultaneously learning how to reduce illness in the classroom, so students miss less school.

  • Teachers can use these LTO science kits to educate students about healthy habits in a hands-on way that keeps them excited and engaged all year long.

  • The Lysol Minilabs Science Kits include various hands-on activities, lesson plans and guides that teachers can use in the classroom to teach kids about positive hygiene habits and germ education in a fun and engaging way.
    Digital versions of the Lysol Minilabs Science Modules will also be available for free.

  • Lysol® is partnering with The Giant Room to create several co-design workshops where attendees will have the opportunity to brainstorm hands-on and engaging additions to the Lysol® Minilabs Science Kits. These interactive participatory design workshops will allow parents, teachers and kids to experience kit creation firsthand and enjoy a day of fun germ education.

    Lysol® will also invite parents, teachers and kids to join the science kit journey online, encouraging them to share their input on social media to make the most engaging science kit possible.
